Real projects, real stories - here's what we've been up to lately
Westview Residence
West Vancouver, BC
A hillside home that doesn't just sit on the land - it works with it. Passive solar, rainwater collection, and views that'll stop you mid-sentence.
Burrard Tech Hub
Downtown Vancouver
7 stories of workspace that actually makes people want to show up. Natural light everywhere, green roof, zero fossil fuels.
Yaletown Loft Conversion
Yaletown, Vancouver
Turned a dated warehouse unit into something that feels both industrial and cozy. Exposed brick stays, everything else got reimagined.
Gastown Heritage Restoration
Gastown, Vancouver
1889 building that needed some serious love. We kept the soul, upgraded everything you can't see, and now it'll be around for another century.
Kitsilano Family Home
Kitsilano, Vancouver
Four kids, two dogs, and parents who work from home. We designed space that bends without breaking - flexible, durable, and honestly pretty fun.
Granville Island Cafe
Granville Island
Waterfront spot with big windows and bigger ambitions. Reclaimed materials, local suppliers, and a layout that flows like the inlet outside.
False Creek Community Plaza
False Creek, Vancouver
Public space that people actually use. Rain gardens handle stormwater, native plants bring back pollinators, and there's room for everyone.
Bowen Island Retreat
Bowen Island, BC
Tiny footprint, huge impact. Off-grid cabin that proves you don't need a mansion to live well. Solar panels, composting toilet, and peace.
Richmond Public Library
Richmond, BC
Libraries aren't dying, they're evolving. We made room for books and maker spaces, quiet corners and community gatherings. It's packed every day.
Startup Office Fitout
Mount Pleasant, Vancouver
Growing team needed flexible space. Modular furniture, acoustic panels that double as art, and a kitchen where actual cooking happens.
Commercial Drive Bike Lane
East Vancouver
Worked with the city to redesign streetscape. Protected bike lanes, wider sidewalks, more trees. Cars still move, but they're not the only priority.
Strathcona Church Conversion
Strathcona, Vancouver
1912 church becoming live-work studios. Kept the stained glass, vaulted ceilings, and character. Added insulation, heating, and modern building systems.
Westview Residence
Location: West Vancouver, BC
Completed: 2024
Type: Residential Architecture
Size: 3,200 sq ft
The Story
Clients came to us with a steep lot and big dreams. They wanted something that respected the natural slope instead of bulldozing through it. We designed the house to step down the hillside - each level has its own relationship with the outdoors.
The southern exposure does most of the heating work in winter. We added thermal mass in the right spots, high-performance windows, and a green roof that handles rainwater while keeping things cool in summer. The result? Their heating bills are basically pocket change.
Best part is how the family uses it. They're outside constantly because every room opens to a different terrace or deck. The architecture doesn't get in the way of living - it enables it.
Key Features
Passive solar design reduces heating by 65%
Rainwater collection system for irrigation
Triple-glazed windows throughout
FSC-certified wood and low-VOC finishes
Burrard Tech Hub
Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC
Completed: 2023
Type: Commercial Design
Size: 42,000 sq ft
The Story
Downtown office buildings can be soul-crushing boxes, but they don't have to be. This project was all about proving that commercial space can be healthy, efficient, and actually pleasant to occupy for 8+ hours a day.
We went all-electric from day one - heat pumps handle climate control, powered by rooftop solar. The floor plates are narrow enough that nobody's more than 25 feet from a window. Central atrium brings light deep into the building and creates visual connection between floors.
The tenants tell us their recruitment got easier after moving in. People want to work there. That's what good architecture should do.
Key Features
100% electric building, LEED Platinum
Natural ventilation with automated windows
12,000 sq ft green roof with accessible terraces
Bike storage for 150+ bikes
Yaletown Loft Conversion
Location: Yaletown, Vancouver, BC
Completed: 2024
Type: Interior Space Design
Size: 1,800 sq ft
The Story
This unit had good bones but zero personality. Original warehouse features were buried under layers of bad renovations from the early 2000s. Our job was archeological - strip back to what mattered and rebuild from there.
We exposed the brick and beams, added a mezzanine that creates distinct zones without chopping up the space, and brought in materials that feel honest - steel, concrete, wood. Nothing trying to be something it's not.
The client's an artist and needed serious storage that didn't look like IKEA exploded. We designed built-ins that disappear into the architecture. Clean lines, maximum function.
